Women's Philanthropy

Women philanthropists are change-makers and community-shapers whom empower women to become leaders in their communities.

The Pomegranate Society

The pomegranate, an ancient Jewish symbol, is also a modern emblem of Jewish women’s philanthropy and commitment. Women who make a minimum annual donation of $1,800 a year to the Jewish Federation’s Annual Campaign, form a society of like-minded donors who care about community engagement and a Jewish future. Pomegranates are invited to all Lion of Judah events.

Lion of Judah

Lion of Judah unites nearly 20,000 Jewish women philanthropists from 141 communities, who raise over $250 million annually for critical Jewish causes.

This committed cohort has become an international symbol of strength, sisterhood, and an unwavering commitment to the local and global Jewish community and sets an exemplary standard of leadership and giving.

Each Lion makes a minimum annual donation of $5,000 to the Jewish Federation’s Annual Campaign and has the opportunity to get involved in social action initiatives and fund-raising events.
